TURNAROUND TIME
SHIPPING BASICS
RISK OF DELAY
Shipping always comes with the inherent risk of delay. We always recommend having a back-up plan in-case your package is delayed. Our domestic delay rate is below 3% for all of our outgoing shipments.
Do not use thin paper envelopes
Key fobs can easily be squeezed out during transit. We recommend using a thick paper version such as the flat rate envelopes from the post office or a padded envelope. While full refunds will be issued, we are not responsible for keys lost in transit to our facility.
CHOOSING THE BEST CARRIER
Domestic shipping
United States Postal Service (USPS) is the recommended mail service for our customers. They offer multiple service levels from economy (First-Class Mail) to next day delivery (Priority Express). They also provide free flat-rate envelopes which are highly recommended as they provide adequate protection for your key.
We recommend USPS due to their much lower rate of permanently losing packages when compared with other providers. While there is always a chance of a shipping delay USPS has only lost 3 of our domestic mail pieces since 2013. USPS also has the lowest shipping rates for low-weight items such as keys.
United States Parcel Service (UPS) is accepted at our office and typically arrives around 11:00 am. It is important to select “shipping release” when sending your mail to avoid delays. Please read more about this below.
FedEx Express is accepted at our office and typically arrives around 11:30 am. Please note that Express service is different from FedEx Ground which is not recommended.
FedEx Ground has the highest rate of delay and issues with misdeliveries. We highly recommend against using this service.
Why do we not recommend signature confirmation? Signature confirmation requires shipping providers to obtain a signature before releasing the package. This is often not an issue but does lead to a higher chance of delay if the shipping provider attempts to deliver mail outside of our normal office hours. We have installed a secure mail chute that leads directly into our office for all orders received outside of business hours. If you would like to use a signature confirmation please contact us.
RUSH PROCESSING ORDERS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 12:00 PM
International
For international orders, shipping through DHL or FEDEX is recommended.
It is recommended that all customers waive signature confirmation if possible to avoid delays. For all incoming packages that require a signature please contact us first.
DHL does not have a set delivery time to our office but typically delivers within business hours. If possible, it is recommended that customers select the option for before-noon delivery.
Once your package has been delivered you will receive an automated e-mail notification. Rush processing orders must be received before noon to provide adequate time for same-day processing.
